About

Tobias Jülg earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in informatics from the Technical University of Munich. During his bachelor’s studies, he spent a semester at the City University of Hong Kong. For his bachelor’s thesis, he delved into novel bio-inspired reinforcement learning algorithms under the umbrella of the Human Brain Project.

During his master’s program, Tobias dedicated six months to study abroad at the University of Tokyo. There, he conducted research on multi-modal representation learning in a neurorobotic context at the Intelligent Systems and Informatics Laboratory under the guidance of Prof. Yasuo Kuniyoshi. In 2023, he completed his master’s degree with high distinction and subsequently joined the Machine Intelligence lab led by Prof. Florian Walter at UTN, where he is now pursuing his Ph.D.

Tobias’s current research centers on Vision-Language-Action Foundation Models for Robotic Manipulation.
