Dr. Christian Sölch
About
Christian Sölch has been working as a post-doc in the Energy Systems and Market Design Lab at the Technical University of Nuremberg (UTN) since July 2024, where he is involved in various projects and committees, including as a collaborator of Prof. Grimm in the Expert Commission on Energy Transition Monitoring. Prior to this, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Economic Theory at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) since 2013. He completed his doctorate in 2019 on the topic „The impact of market design on transmission and generation investments in liberalized electricity markets with zonal pricing“. He then headed the research area „Energy Market Design and Policy“ as a post-doc. Until the end of 2016, he worked at the Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE) Bavaria as part of the „Smart Grid Solar“ project and until the end of 2021 at the Energy Campus Nürnberg (EnCN) within the research area „Energy Market Design“. He studied business mathematics with a focus on optimization and process management at FAU and at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaìso, Chile.
