NUEDIGITAL – On tour with robots: Get to know the Department of Engineering at UTN!

Meet Rosie, Pixie and the Turtle Bots! During the guided tour through our Department of Engineering, we will show you what our robots can do.

Intelligent robots are a key area of research at the Department of Engineering at UTN. They can perceive and interpret their environment with the help of artificial intelligence. For example, our scientists teach vacuum cleaner robots what dirt is and which objects they shouldn't vacuuming up.

The four-legged robot dog Pixie, on the other hand, is used on construction sites. It walks independently across the site, recognizes obstacles and creates 3D scans using lasers. This makes it possible, for example, to check whether pipes, cables or walls have been placed correctly.

Instead of walking and driving, our robot arms focus on the targeted gripping of objects.  Even complex tasks can be completed by two robots working together. You can learn more about the research and use of our robots during the guided tour of our Engineering Department.
