What is intelligence? (Im-)materiality of intelligence
Date: 27. November 2024Time: 19:00 – 20:30Location: JOSEPHS – Open innovation lab (Augustinerstraße 19, 90403 Nuremberg)
Dive into the fascinating world of intelligence! Over the course of five evenings, our series of events will explore the complexities of human and artificial intelligence. Experts from the fields of philosophy, cognitive psychology, sociology, neurobiology and computer science will give exciting talks and discuss the latest research.
The last event in the series focuses on intelligence in humans: How can intelligence in humans be described and how is it formed? Is it material, i.e. does it only consist of the different connections of neurons in the human brain, for example, or are there also other, non-material aspects? Prof. Arbogast Schmitt (Classics and Philosophy) and Prof. Andreas Draguhn (Neurobiology and Medical Physiology) will give us an insight into possible answers to these questions.
