Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As an international and interdisciplinary university, we are committed to innovative approaches in learning, research, and teaching. We are dedicated to cultivating a culture of respect and belonging in which all members of the UTN feel respected and belong and can develop their full potential. We achieve this by actively advancing core principles like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in all their dimensions.

With the statement against anti-Semitism, the UTN also explicitly expresses that anti-Semitism, discrimination and racism in any form are condemned and actively combated. The University fully endorses the “Resolution for respect at Bavarian universities and against discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism”.

Activities until 2025

To foster a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within UTN, we have initiated a DEI action plan, which will be implemented over the course of two years and will lay the groundwork for the development of a detailed concept. Initial measures include staffing the DEI Office and participating in the “Shaping Diversity” audit of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft. As part of this process, an accompanying steering group was set up to support the development and anchoring of a culture of appreciation at UTN. The audit is accompanied by an independent expert. In addition, the founding committee has elected Dr. Tanja Kaiser as commissioner for equal opportunities for women in science and arts.
